Fernando Bales

Owner / Lead Designer / Licensed Residential Builder

Fernando Bales is a licensed Michigan residential builder with over a decade of experience in both the building and design disciplines. Bales believes that design contributes to our daily lives in much more meaningful ways than what we see on the surface. Experiencing quality spaces contributes to our own happiness and he strives to bring this to every project. Bales is interested in the overlaps between building science, technology, and materiality within the built environment and works to find new and interesting uses for seemingly everyday materials. Fernando founded his Design / Build practice FPB Studio in 2013 after graduating with his Masters of Architecture degree from Cranbrook Academy of Art (Bloomfield Hills, MI). You can find him wrenching on his bicycle, enjoying strong coffee, or playing with his two rescue dogs when he's not working on his historic home.
